Perpetual Heartbreak

Perpetual Heartbreak is the solo debut album of Los Angeles-based musician BAO, released on October 9, 2020. Branching out from the rigid electronic pop of the synth-pop band Ming & Ping, for whom he wrote and produced five albums and a slew of EPs and singles over a decade, BAO set out to make a genre-less record that showcases the beauty of imperfections. Each of the fourteen tracks is a snapshot of the subject matter BAO is most passionate about: interpersonal relationships, culture and identity (mostly Asian American identity), and mental health.
